Paying for College
We understand that paying for college could be a tremendous challenge. That’s why we’ve put together this guide to many of the options available to finance your education. Camden County College can help you identify grants, scholarships, payment plans and other financial resources.
Federal Grants
TRiO Student Support Services
Student Support Services Program is a federally funded TRiO program designed to enable low-income, first-generation college students, and students with a documented disability to stay in college until they earn their degree or transfer to a four-year institution.

Pell Grant
The Federal Pell Grant Program provides need-based grants to low income, undergraduate students who have not earned a bachelor’s or professional degree. Unlike a loan, it does not have to be repaid. The award amount is determined by the student’s financial need based on the information submitted on the FAFSA application and the student’s enrollment.

SEOG Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant
SEOG is for undergraduates who are Pell Grant recipients to assist with additional educational expenses. Just like Pell Grants, the FSEOG does not have to be repaid but it is awarded on a first-come basis.

State Aid
Community College Opportunity Grant (CCOG)
CCOG is a state grant that provides last dollar grant aid to full or part-time students who also have a total household income under $80,000. Additional eligibility requirements apply. Pending state budget approval.

Tuition Aid Grant from the State of New Jersey (TAG)
Much like the PELL grant from the federal government, many students may be eligible for additional need-based grant money from the state of New Jersey. However, additional information may need to be supplied from the student, and deadlines vary from the federal requirements.

Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF)
EOF is a state program that provides counseling, academic support and financial assistance to educationally and economically disadvantaged students.

NJ STARS
The New Jersey Student Tuition Assistance Reward Scholarship (NJ STARS) Program is an initiative to provide New Jersey’s highest achieving students with free tuition up to 18 credit hours per semester at their home county college for up to five semesters.

Loans
There are two federal loan programs that students can take advantage of: Federal Direct Student Loans and Parent Loan for Undergraduate Students (PLUS).

Federal Work Study
Federal Work-Study provides part-time jobs for undergraduate students with financial need, allowing them to earn money to help pay education expenses. The program encourages community service work and work related to the recipient’s course of study.

Tuition Waivers
New Jersey National Guard Waiver
The National Guard Waiver covers the cost of tuition only up to a maximum of 16 credits/hours per semester. Students are responsible for the payment of all other applicable fees.

Unemployment Waivers
The Unemployment Waiver covers tuition and general fees. Students are responsible for payment of all other costs at the time of registration.
